Sup all and Devs! Just wanted to know if anyone else is having this issue with the controls not saving once edited. I cutomized my controls and once i stoped playing and close the game and come back to play again all my controls are back to default. So i have to go back and re-edit again This is the only issue ive ran into so far in this version. Im running Win10 Pro 64 bit and i also did the Run as Admin to see if that would fix the issue but it didnt.
I paid for the 2nd one even thoe i owned it and didnt ask for my cash back being i like to support good work but FREE to all that own is always better in my book when you own the original :D So thx again. En son Mr. Yeah i have a folder at that location also and the only thing in it is a Config file. Just a small update: I just found the source of the problem. Well, technically, there are two separate sources: 1. The first problem, as mentioned above, is international path names not being supported though I'm not sure if user pathes on Windows can contain non-ASCII characters, anyways 2.
The second problem, which I just tested, is that the game never creates the Darksiders folder mentioned in my previous posts. This is because this folder is only meant to be used by the original game. It's actually an error that Warmastered Edition uses it to store its keyboard configuration.
Since this folder is never created by Warmastered Edition, trying to save configuration data there always fails, unless you have played the original version of the game, in which case the folder already exists on your system. Having found the source of the problem, it will hopefully be fixed with the next update. This means that if you use task manager to shut down your game or your game crashes, the configuration currently won't be saved.
Answering those questions might help reproducing and fixing the problem. The current suspicion is that maybe with certain path names such as path names containing non-ASCII characters , saving could fail. I need more data to find this bug, though. Ok for Step one when i close the game i do it in the game only not useing Alt-F4 or X. I do it from the game menu and in game only to close the game.
Ok with what you asked for, no there is no Darksiders folder at or in that location. Would it be under a different sur folder or shoud it be just a Darksiders folder in that location? Originally posted by Mr. Yeah i dont see anything you are asking for im even looking into folders that dont have a name in or it that doesnt look like a program folder and i dont see anything.
Let me see if i can take a screen shot of that location and see if you can see what maybe im missing. I too don not have the file you said in that location here is a picture. Yeah im trying to find it also and i cant and i searched all folders and there is no folder in that location holding any Darksiders files or folders.
There certainly doesn't seem to be anything problematic with the path name. You did quit the game normally, right, Hypnotoad? Still investigating.
Yeah np im sure we can find the issue Its seems the main folder at that location if one should be there isnt there and itsnt saving to the location for some reason. Yep, I quit via main menu. Also I tried verifying the files and nothing to download.
Last edited by WizZzard ; 1 Dec, am. Dont know if this might be a issue but Hypnotoad do you have the game installed on a C: drive or a alt drive? Ok just checking so we know its not a location issue lol Just wanted to make sure being i have a game drive. So wanted to make sure there wasnt a path issue or install issue.
